What are the quality requirements of non-woven fabrics
12-05-2022

Non-woven fabrics are widely used in medical care, such as masks, protective clothing, gloves, etc. The raw materials are non-woven fabrics. In addition to cotton packaging, the packaging materials of domestic disinfection supply centers are commonly used non-woven fabrics. Cloth packaging, non-woven fabrics have taken a big step forward in reducing cotton dust pollution compared with cotton fabric packaging.

Medical non-woven fabrics are used to wrap instrument boxes to prevent secondary contamination of sterilized instruments. It is breathable, waterproof, flexible, non-toxic and non-irritating, and can be used for sterilized packaging such as low-temperature plasma, pressure steam, and ethylene oxide.

So what are the quality requirements of medical non-woven fabrics?
1. Non-woven packaging materials should meet the requirements of "GB/T19663.1-2015 Packaging of Sterilized Medical Devices":
Microbial barrier properties, water resistance, compatibility with human tissues, air permeability, salt water resistance, surface absorption, toxicology experiments, equivalent pore size, drape, tensile strength, wet tensile strength and bursting strength, etc. All comply with relevant regulations and should be used once.

2. Storage environment requirements
The storage requirements of medical non-woven fabrics meet the requirements of YY/T0698.2-2009 specifications. That is, the temperature of the inspection, packaging and sterilization areas is 20℃-23℃, the relative humidity is 30%-60%, and the mechanical ventilation is 10 times per hour. Textile and other packaging materials.

3. Size requirements
①Instrument bag in the operating room: refer to the size of the instrument cart in the operating room. If you need to use non-woven equipment to package and lay the table top of the instrument cart, the size of the non-woven fabric must be greater than 30cm around the table surface of the sagable instrument cart.

②Irregular-shaped instruments: such as chest openers, electric drills, etc., choose a mesh basket to regularize them, and then pack them with non-woven fabrics. A round container such as a cotton ball cylinder is placed in the middle of the non-woven fabric, and the left and right sides of the wrapping are folded back, then rolled forward, and the wrapping edges are folded inward for 3cm-5cm, and then sealed.

③ Frame hook type equipment: tape can be appropriately used to fix the non-woven fabric during inner packaging to prevent loosening.

4. Other requirements
①Requirements for sharp or hooked instruments: It is necessary to bring a protective cover for sharp instruments to prevent such instruments from piercing the non-woven fabric, resulting in instrument pollution and unnecessary waste of consumables.

② Requirements for overlapping items: surgical basins, treatment bowls, etc. should be packaged separately as much as possible. If overlapping, absorbent paper should be placed between the items to reduce the wet pack rate.

③ Requirements for small screws and drills: It is not advisable to pack them directly with non-woven fabrics. They should be packed in sieve-type precision instrument boxes before packing.
